Making a slipcover seems a little mysterious to many people; but it really isn’t once you think about it. It does, however, require the right sewing machines, tables, physicality, and of course time. This is why I have a shop, and also do yoga. To get a project done, I need to stretch into and around the furniture, hold a position to get a critical cut, pin fit, pattern match, serge, and sew.
During a phone conversation, I will quote the early essentials of "how much and when". Together we will figure out how to bring your furniture into my workroom. I can advise on appropriate and preferable fabrics, as this has now become my instinctual gift. I will pre wash and dry-shrink your selected fabric, allowing the slipcover to be washable and functional for many years. Together we will style and create. If your furniture is impossible to move from your home, I can arrange for an on-site cutting appointment.
You can purchase fabrics from wherever you like, or you may want to view my personal selection of Eco-Friendly fabrics. These are fabrics which I have come to prefer to work with, can personally attest to their durability, and believe in their earth sustainability.
